In 2016 Dutch journalist Sinan Can travelled to Afghanistan’s Chora district in the province of Uruzgan where he spoke with the relatives of the civilians who were killed by Dutch artillery in a battle between Dutch military forces and the Taliban in 2007. He recorded their testimonials in the Dutch documentary ‘Our Mission in Afghanistan, the Battle of Chora’. Five years later, he returned to that fatal night with new witnesses and made a follow-up documentary ‘Betrayal of Chora’.
